Sui provides the Shizuku API to apps that need root or shell access. Instead of running su commands and parsing their text output, an app can call Android framework APIs directly as root or shell, or start its own Java service under root or shell. This package is XiaoTong's build of Sui, synced from the XiaoTong6666/Sui repository.
What's different from su
- Apps get structured Java objects through Binder, not text from commands like
pm list. - Sui doesn't put binaries in
PATHand doesn't install a separate manager app, which leaves less for detection apps to find. - It isn't a root solution by itself: it needs an existing root and runs as a Zygisk module. Apps that only use
sukeep working as before.
Installation and management
- On Magisk you need 24.0+ with Zygisk enabled. On KernelSU or APatch you also need a separate Zygisk implementation, such as Zygisk Next.
- Install the zip from your root manager and reboot.
- Open the management screen with the Action button, by long-pressing the Settings icon, from a home-screen shortcut, or by dialing
*#*#784784#*#*.
| Permission mode | Effect |
|---|---|
| Ask (default) | The app can request permission the normal way |
| Allow root / Allow shell | The app is routed to the root or shell backend |
| Deny | The app can't use Sui |
| Hide | Sui is hidden from that app at the Binder level |
Changing a permission may force-stop the app so it reconnects with the right backend.
Shell and adb root
- Interactive shell: copy the needed files yourself (see
/data/adb/sui/post-install.example.sh), then userishlikesh. - adb root (off by default): create
/data/adb/sui/enable_adb_root(orenable_adb_root_oncefor one boot) and reboot, then runadb root. Delete the file to turn it off.
