Wi-Fi Bonding NoLog [Qcom] applies Qualcomm Wi-Fi configuration changes for channel bonding and reduced logging, with an optional command that prioritizes lower latency over power saving.
Qualcomm Wi-Fi Configuration Tuning
Designed around Qualcomm WCNSS configuration; actual channel width and throughput remain controlled by hardware, firmware, access point, and regulations.
Channel Bonding
Requests wider supported Wi-Fi channel operation through recognized Qualcomm configuration values.
Reduced Logging
Disables selected driver packet and diagnostic logging options to reduce background log activity.
Optional Low Latency
Exposes a runtime toggle for Android Wi-Fi low-latency mode, which can increase power use even with the screen off.
What Bonding Can and Cannot Change
Channel bonding allows a compatible radio and access point to use a wider channel, which can raise the negotiated link rate. It does not literally double throughput in every environment. Congestion, signal quality, access-point settings, regulatory domain, antenna design, and the Qualcomm firmware determine whether the wider mode is selected and useful.
The NoLog settings reduce selected diagnostic work but do not constitute a general privacy or security feature. They may also remove information needed to troubleshoot Wi-Fi failures, so reproduce an issue without the module before filing a ROM or kernel report.
Manual Runtime Controls
The low-latency toggle can be changed from a terminal without reflashing the module.
The repository also describes experimental adjustment of txqueuelen through its txtweak file. A larger transmit queue can absorb bursts but can also add queueing delay; record the original value and change it only after measuring the actual workload.
Installation Notes
- Record saved Wi-Fi credentials because upstream recommends forgetting existing networks before applying the new configuration.
- Remove an older module version and reboot before installing the replacement.
- Install through the root manager, reboot again, and reconnect to the access point.
- Compare negotiated link details, latency, stability, and battery behavior before keeping optional tweaks.
