Magisk NetBird by ahsaboy wraps the NetBird command-line daemon in a root module, so the phone joins your NetBird network from boot without the NetBird app. The official NetBird binaries (v0.80.0 at the time of writing) for arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a and x86_64 are all in one zip.
Joining your network
Before the first reboot the service script lives in /data/adb/netbird/scripts/; after that it's on the path as netbird.service:
su -c 'netbird.service up --setup-key <KEY> --management-url <URL>'
su -c 'netbird.service status'
su -c 'netbird.service peers' # direct or relayed, latency, traffic, last handshake
su -c 'netbird.service log'To keep the setup key out of your shell history, write it to /data/adb/netbird/setup.key (mode 600) and use --setup-key-file instead. DNS management is turned off by default when joining with netbird.service up.
Action button and WebUI
- The Action button (Magisk v28+, or KernelSU/APatch) asks for a volume key: Volume Up starts NetBird, Volume Down stops it.
- From a root shell,
action.shalso takesstatus, refresh, start, stop, restartandpeers. - KernelSU users get a small WebUI with controls and status.
Installation
- Install the zip from Magisk, KernelSU or APatch. Installing from recovery isn't supported.
- The installer picks the binary for your CPU and sets up
/data/adb/netbird. - Reboot; the daemon starts a few seconds after boot. Uninstalling stops it and deletes
/data/adb/netbird.
Magisk-compatible managers can check for updates through the module's update info.
