Magisk DRM Disabler is a legacy Magisk module that suppresses selected Android DRM components and deletes DRM data at boot, with LIGHT and FULL installation modes for different levels of removal.
DRM Removal, Not DRM Bypass
Protected streaming and playback are expected to stop working when the services they require are removed.
LIGHT Mode
Suppresses a narrower set of vendor DRM and CAS services, liboemcrypto, and selected DRM directories.
FULL Mode
Extends removal to DRM servers, firmware, framework files, permissions, media libraries, and additional vendor components.
Boot Cleanup
The service script deletes several DRM and MediaDRM data directories on every boot in both modes.
Choosing an Installation Mode

The module uses empty systemless replacements for many system paths. Directories under /data cannot be overlaid in the same way, so the service removes them directly during startup.
Installation
- Create a complete backup and confirm that protected media playback is not required.
- Install the release ZIP through Magisk Manager, TWRP, or OrangeFox as documented by the project.
- At the volume-key prompt, press Volume Up for FULL mode or Volume Down for LIGHT mode.
- Reboot and test media playback, camera functions, screen output, and vendor-specific services.
- If FULL mode causes breakage, remove the module, reboot, and reinstall using LIGHT mode only after the system is stable.
