About this module

Gboard Dictionary 3 installs a 58,053-entry Simplified and Traditional Chinese user dictionary for Gboard, with support for abbreviated Pinyin and Shuangpin input.

Expanded Chinese Vocabulary

A packaged user_dict_3_3 database derived from a modern Chinese reference dictionary and selected specialist terms.

58,053 Entries

The corpus is based on the fifth edition of the Modern Chinese Dictionary with additional professional vocabulary.

Input Variants

Supports Simplified and Traditional Chinese together with abbreviated Pinyin and Shuangpin workflows.

Local Backup Choice

When a previous backup is detected, the volume-key installer can restore it instead of writing a fresh dictionary.

How It Works

The installer locates Gboard's application UID, backs up the existing user_dict_3_3 file, writes the packaged database into Gboard's private files directory, fixes ownership and permissions, and stops Gboard so it reloads the data.

Installation

  1. Install and configure Gboard before flashing the module.
  2. Download the current ZIP and install it with the official Magisk application; the developer notes that some third-party module managers may fail to detect Gboard.
  3. Follow the volume-key prompts to restore an existing backup or install the new dictionary.
  4. Wait about one minute for indexing, then type 光·遇 to test the database.
