DTSX Ultra ZTE A2020G Pro
This Magisk Module adds the strong DTS equalizer sound effects that were first added to the ZTE A2020G Pro (model P855A01). This port has been expertly turned into a simple, flashable Magisk Module that can be used by a wide range of rooted Android devices that meet the requirements.
The module works as a sound effect after processing. This means that it gets the audio stream after it has been processed for the first time and adds its own improvements, making the sound on your system richer, deeper, and more dynamic.
Changing system properties is an important part of how this module works. It needs to change the ro.build.product value to ‘P855A01’ and the ro.product.model value to ‘ZTE A2020G Pro’ in order to work. This change is needed so that the DTS effects can start up. However, users should be careful because this spoofing could mess up how other system applications or device-specific features that depend on the original product model identification work.

Prerequisites for Installation
Please make sure your device meets these specific requirements before you continue with the installation. If these requirements aren’t met, the module won’t work right.
- Device Architecture: Your device needs to have a arm64-v8a or armeabi-v7a processor. This works with almost all 32- and 64-bit devices, both new and old.
- Android Version: You need to have Android 6.0 (Marshmallow, SDK 23) or a newer version of Android.
- Root Solution: This module will only work if you have a working copy of Magisk or KernelSU installed and running.
Download and Installation Procedure
To install the DTS sound module on your device, follow these steps carefully.
- 1. Get the Module: You can get the latest version of the module installer zip file from the official Pling repository:
- 2. Set up the Module: * 2. Set up the Module: Open your Magisk or KernelSU app, go to the “Modules” section, and choose the file to install the downloaded
.zipfile. You can also flash the zip file from a custom recovery like TWRP if you have Magisk installed. - (If) Set up AML: If you are already using any other audio modification, like ViPER4Android, Dolby Atmos, or something else, you must also install the Audio Modification Library (AML) Magisk Module. This important step keeps audio mods from having problems with each other.
- 4. Step for KernelSU Users: If you use KernelSU, you need to go to the app settings and turn off the “Unmount Modules by Default” option.
- 5. Restart: Restart your device after flashing the module (and AML, if necessary) for the changes to take effect.
- 6. After Reboot (KernelSU): You have to give Superuser access by hand for KernelSU users. Launch the KernelSU app, go to the Superuser list, check the box next to “show system apps,” and then give permission to all the package names in the module’s
package.txtfile. You also need to give your home launcher app permission. After doing this, restart your device one more time. - **7. After the reboot (SUList): If your setup uses SUList, you need to add your home launcher app to the allowlist by hand. To find it in the list, don’t forget to check the box that says “show system apps.” After making this change, restart your computer.

Current Known Issues
While this module is stable for many, there are a couple of known problems that are still being investigated:
- In-Game Microphone: Some users may experience microphone-related bugs or failures specifically when inside gaming applications. This behavior appears to be device-dependent.
- Android 14 Incompatibility: The module is confirmed to not work on the Android 14 QPR3 (AP2A) build. Users on this specific firmware version should not install it.
