Call Recorder - SKVALEX is the discontinued Magisk packaging for the SKVALEX call-recording app. It enabled root-assisted recording of both call directions and installed the app as a system app, but upstream now recommends installing the current app directly and selecting Root in its setup wizard.
Legacy Magisk Integration
Existing installations may continue to work, but the maintained path has moved into the standalone application's root mode.

Exposed root-assisted uplink and downlink sources for devices where normal Android APIs could not capture both sides reliably.

The historical integration improved detection of when an outgoing call was answered so recording could begin at the relevant point.

Recommended Current Setup
- Install the current Call Recorder - SKVALEX application from the developer's official site.
- Open its setup wizard and choose the Root method.
- Grant root, microphone, phone, and notification permissions requested by the app.
- Make a short test call and verify both sides before relying on unattended recording.
Using an Existing Module Installation
In the app, open Settings → Recording → Standard API. A star before an audio-source name indicates root-assisted support. Upstream historically recommended Voice call uplink + downlink, with other starred sources as device-specific fallbacks.
On Xiaomi-family firmware, enable Auto-start before systemizing the app. On any OEM ROM, exclude it from battery optimization and allow background launch; making it a system app alone does not prevent every vendor task killer.
