Call Recorder
This Magisk module is expertly made to unlock all the features of the Call Recorder - SKVALEX app. It uses root access to get around modern Android recording limits. Operating systems have added stricter security and privacy features since Android 9 Pie. Because of this, a lot of apps have a hard time reliably recording both sides of a phone call. This module is a direct and strong way to fix this issue.
Magisk lets you integrate at the system level, which gives you a set of advanced features that regular apps can’t use. The main things that will get better are:
- Full Two-Way Recording: This feature makes sure that you can hear both your voice (uplink) and the voice of the person you’re talking to (downlink) very clearly. This is something that is often limited on Android 9, 10, and newer devices that aren’t rooted.
- How to Control the Accuracy of the Recording: The module helps the app figure out when a call is really answered. This means that recording starts as soon as the call starts, so there are no silent or ringing tones at the beginning of an outgoing call.
Adding this Magisk module will make the SKVALEX Call Recorder even better if you already like using it. The module makes it easy for new users to set up the app by installing the main app for them.
Configuration and Usage Guide
When you install the module in Magisk Manager and restart your device, the SKVALEX Call Recorder app will automatically get all of its great new features. Please do the following to make sure the module is active and set it up for the best performance:
- Open the Call Recorder app and go to the “Settings” menu.
- Next, go to the “Recording” section.
- Set “Standard API” as your way to record.
This menu will now show a star symbol (★) next to some audio source names. This star means that the Magisk module is working right and has made it easier for the system to record audio.
The best audio source for two-way recordings that are clear and accurate is “★ Voice call uplink + downlink.” This option is meant to directly record audio streams that are coming in and going out at the core system level. If this setting makes your device or custom ROM act in a way that you didn’t expect, you can try out the other starred (★) audio sources to find the best one for your hardware.
Important Considerations and Best Practices
To make sure that your recording goes smoothly and reliably, please read the following important points:
- See if the module is necessary: If you have the right device and ROM, the main SKVALEX Call Recorder application might be able to use the functions it needs just by being given normal root permissions. Before you install, make sure there is already a star symbol (★) next to audio sources in Settings > Recording > Standard API. If the star is there, you don’t need this Magisk module.
- Setting up your Xiaomi/MIUI device: If you have a Xiaomi, Redmi, or Poco device running MIUI, you must give the SKVALEX app permission to “Auto-start” before you install this Magisk module. The process of systemization can make this permission toggle hard to find. If you’ve already installed the module, you might need to uninstall it, turn on “Auto-start” for the app, and then reinstall the module.
- Making sure the application lasts a long time: This module turns the app into a system app, which makes it much less likely that the Android OS will kill it on its own. But a lot of device makers use aggressive battery optimizers that can still mess up background tasks. To make sure that recordings are never missed, you need to turn off all battery-saving features for the app, turn on any “auto-start” or “auto-launch” permissions, and lock the app in your device’s “Recents” (multitasking) screen. Please check out the official best practices guide and the great site dontkillmyapp.com for more information on how to do this on your device.
