AudioFX LineageOS

Enhance Your Audio with LineageOS AudioFX

This Magisk Module brings the powerful and popular Equalizer (AudioFX) directly from the official LineageOS ROM. It is meant to improve the sound quality on all devices that are rooted with Magisk or KernelSU.

If you’ve ever used LineageOS, you know that AudioFX is a simple but powerful tool for adjusting your sound profile. It lets you change the equalization, boost the bass, and add other effects. This module lets you use that same feature on any ROM, whether it’s stock OEM, AOSP, or a different custom build.

This module works as a global type sound effect (soundfx). This means it integrates directly into the Android audio framework and will process sound from all applications on your device, including music players, video apps, and games.

**Important Compatibility Note: This module will not work with Samsung’s built-in Sound Alive FX. If you are on a Samsung device, you must follow the specific installation instructions provided below to avoid issues and ensure the module functions correctly.

Please pay close attention to these instructions. Depending on your device (Samsung vs. Non-Samsung) and whether you use other audio mods, the steps are different.

General Installation (Most Devices)

  1. Important First Step: DO NOT install or use any module called “AOSP SoundFX Remover.” This module is meant to work with the libraries that come with it.
  2. Open the Magisk or KernelSU app and install the ZIP file of the module you just downloaded.
  3. Reboot your device.
  4. Test your sound after restarting. If AudioFX is working, you are done.

If You Use OTHER Audio Mods (e.g., Viper4Android)

Samsung (One UI / TouchWiz) Users

Because of the problem with Samsung Sound Alive, your steps are different.

  1. The first thing you need to do is install the Sound Alive FX Remover module. Get it here: [https://github.com/reiryuki/Sound-Alive-FX-Remover-Magisk-Module] (https://github.com/reiryuki/Sound-Alive-FX-Remover-Magisk-Module)
  2. Next, set up this module called LineageOS AudioFX.
  3. Finally, you need to install the AML Magisk Module https://t.me/androidryukimodsdiscussions/29836 to make the sound changes work.
  4. Restart your device.
