About this module

AirMusic Magisk Module enables the companion AirMusic Android application to use its root-recording method, allowing device audio to be captured and streamed to compatible receivers on the local network.

Root Audio Capture for AirMusic

Provide the system integration required by AirMusic's root-recording mode while the application manages receiver discovery and streaming.

Root Recording

Supplies the root-side components used by AirMusic to capture audio generated by the Android device.

Network Receivers

Works with the AirMusic app to send captured audio to supported receivers available through the network.

Companion Integration

Operates as an add-on rather than a standalone player; configuration and streaming remain inside the AirMusic application.

Module, App, and Receiver Roles

Root module

Installs the system-side components required by AirMusic's root-recording method. It does not provide a launcher interface or receiver controls.

AirMusic app

Starts audio capture, discovers available destinations, and manages the streaming session. The application is also known by its former AirAudio name.

Network receiver

Accepts the stream sent by the app. Receiver support and playback behavior are determined by AirMusic rather than by the root module.

Requirements

Install the AirMusic application, also known as AirAudio, from Google Play before installing the module. The official project documents Magisk as its primary root environment. KernelSU users may need to disable the module unmount option in the relevant application profile so AirMusic can access the installed files.

Setup and Verification

  1. Install and open the official AirMusic Android application so its normal permissions and network setup are available.
  2. Install the module through the active root manager and reboot so the system-side files are mounted.
  3. For KernelSU, check the AirMusic application profile if root recording is unavailable. The repository specifically notes that the module-unmount option may need to be disabled.
  4. Select root recording inside AirMusic, choose a receiver visible on the network, and start the stream from the application.
Not a standalone streaming appThe module only enables root recording. Receiver discovery, protocol support, playback controls, and streaming configuration are provided by the separately installed AirMusic application; the module's repository does not claim to add those functions by itself.
