4K60 Camera Mod enhances the stock Samsung Camera application on supported Exynos flagships by enabling additional recording modes, manual controls, and configurable video options through a systemless Magisk installation.
Expanded Samsung Camera Controls
Unlock higher frame rates and expose camera settings that the supported Samsung firmware normally keeps unavailable.
High-Frame-Rate Video
Adds UHD recording at 60 FPS, QHD at 120 FPS, and other custom resolutions supported by the module's device-specific configuration.
Manual Capture Options
Extends Pro Mode with custom ISO values up to 6400, shutter speeds up to 90 seconds, front-camera controls, and ISO adjustment during recording.
Recording Configuration
Provides controls for audio and video bitrate, enables HEVC encoding and UHD HDR, and removes the ten-minute limit from supported UHD and FHD 60 FPS modes.
Controls Exposed by the Mod
Capture and Pro Mode
The project extends Samsung's manual controls beyond the stock interface. It enables Pro Mode for the front camera and slow-motion resolutions, raises the selectable ISO range to 6400, and adds long-exposure shutter values up to 90 seconds. During video capture, users can select shutter speeds slower than 1/30 second and adjust ISO while recording.
The front-camera Auto mode can also be unlocked with post-processing disabled. These options expose controls already tied to the supported Samsung camera stack; they do not add equivalent capabilities to unrelated camera applications.
Video and Camera Behavior
Recording options include adjustable audio and video bitrates, HEVC encoder selection, HDR at UHD resolutions, and removal of the ten-minute cap for supported UHD and FHD 60 FPS modes. The module also exposes custom resolutions such as QHD 120 FPS where the device-specific package supports them.
Additional changes remove Samsung's 15% low-battery flash restriction and allow the camera quick-launch shortcut to be assigned to either the Home or Power key. The exact menu items available remain dependent on the installed device profile and Samsung firmware.
Device-Specific Operation
This is not a generic Camera2 API switch. The package contains modified Samsung Camera components and device-specific camera-library handling for the supported Exynos generations. The installer identifies the device and applies the corresponding files through Magisk, leaving the original system partition unchanged.
Because camera APKs, native libraries, sensor definitions, and firmware must agree, a package intended for another model can produce missing modes, application crashes, or failed recording. Samsung Camera updates or a ROM change may also replace the expected base components, so compatibility should be checked again after a firmware migration.
Compatibility
The official project requires Magisk 18 or newer and a Samsung Experience or One UI-based ROM. Full support is documented for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, Galaxy Note 7 and Note FE, Galaxy S8 and S8+, and Galaxy Note 8.

Install the correct project ZIP through Magisk and reboot. If Samsung Camera behaves incorrectly after installation, clear the data for ShootingModeProvider before testing again. Use only the package intended for the supported device and firmware family.
