Franco Kernel Manager by Francisco Franco is a paid root app for tuning your device's kernel. It covers CPU and GPU settings, battery stats and per-app profiles, and it can flash kernels and Magisk modules without a custom recovery. It's on Google Play, priced at US$2.49 when this page was written.
Requirements
You need a rooted device. Some options depend on your hardware and kernel. The developer lists High Brightness Mode only for supported devices such as the Pixel 3 and 4, and GPU options for Adreno, Exynos and Kirin.
Kernel controls
- CPU frequencies and governors, including multi-cluster CPUs, plus GPU frequencies, stune, CPU-Boost and Input-boost.
- IO scheduler, wakelocks, lowmemorykiller minfree, KSM, ZRAM, entropy and flar2 wake gestures. You can also add your own tunables.
- Auto-flash for kernels, Magisk modules and other flashable zips, without booting to a custom recovery.
- Kernel backup and restore, and a kernel log viewer.
- A
build.propeditor.
Battery and per-app profiles
- A battery monitor notification shows use during active and idle periods, estimated charging time, and charging amps and watts.
- Battery stats break down power use in mAh by component, such as Wi-Fi, screen, signal and idle.
- Per-app profiles apply different settings for each app. For example, you could use the maximum CPU frequency for a game and a low frequency for an e-book reader.
- Display color temperature presets, with KLapse support.
